TOKYO

Effective October 25, 2019, Naoyuki Tokonami is appointed president and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Artiza Networks, Inc. (TSE: 6778). Since 2009, Naoyuki Tokonami has served as senior vice president of research and development. He will succeed Artiza co-founder Takashi Tokonami as president, who will continue to serve the company as CEO and chairman of the board of directors.

Takashi Tokonami said, “I am very pleased to announce the transition to a new president for Artiza Networks, Naoyuki Tokonami. Naoyuki and I have worked together for almost three decades to drive the company to success in the growing field of telecommunications technology. His leadership will ensure that success continues in the 5G era.” Takashi Tokonami will retain some of his current duties with the company including high-level customer relations to ensure a smooth transition.

Incoming President Naoyuki Tokonami said, “This is a critical changing point for the industry and the company as we shift our focus to implementing ongoing 5G projects, and I’m honored to take on these new responsibilities at such an exciting time. With our recent intensive focus on 5G R&D, I’m confident Artiza will have success with the technology found in our latest DuoSIM-5G product as it continues to penetrate the tier-one vendor market worldwide as well as expanding its dominance in Japan.”

Naoyuki Tokonami, the younger brother of Takashi Tokonami, joined Artiza Networks in 1993, two years after its founding. He was appointed vice president of R&D in 2009, contributing his deep knowledge of mobile communication testing and close working relationships with major telecom operators and vendors. In 2010, he established an R&D support office in Shanghai and serves as a board member of that company, Artiza Shanghai Software Development Company, Ltd.
