TOKYO – Artiza Networks, Inc. (President: Takashi Tokonami, HQ: Tachikawa, Tokyo) and Rohde & Schwarz Japan, Inc. (President: Jacques Jourda, HQ: Shinjuku, Tokyo) have agreed to collaborate on technology synergies for fifth generation mobile communication networks (5G).
Mobile network vendors and operators are aiming to launch 5G services by 2020. These next generation networks will need to support speeds exceeding 10 Gbps, capacity roughly 1,000 times higher than current LTE networks, a massive surge in the number of connected terminals due to the spread of M2M communications, and a variety of other new services. Discussions about the best methods for development of 5G networks are ongoing in research groups and at conferences around the world, and 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project) is continuing its examination and creation of official standards and specifications.
This initiative aims to create a competitive advantage for both companies, and add value for their customers in the global market by integrating their complementary expertise in testing and evaluation technology for the telecommunications industry.
